What is a voltage divider?

A voltage divider uses two resistors in series to produce a fraction of the input voltage. Commonly used for sensor interfacing, ADC inputs, and level shifting.

Limitations

Voltage dividers are not suitable for high-current loads. The output voltage drops when a load is connected. Use a voltage regulator for stable power supply.
